Will this satisfy my court order?

This is the first question almost everyone asks, so here is the direct answer. Our anger management program is approved by courts, probation departments, the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and the Board of Registered Nursing. It is also widely accepted by employers and other referring agencies. Because requirements vary, confirm acceptance with the court or agency requiring your program before you enroll. We have held a working relationship with DCFS for nine years and appear on probation department approved-facility lists.

One practical caution, because it saves people money: a small number of courts name a specific provider list, or require a set number of hours that differs from what you were told verbally. Check the paperwork you were given, and if anything is ambiguous, contact us before you enroll and we will tell you plainly whether our program fits. If you want to confirm your requirement independently, most state court systems publish self-help guidance — California’s is at the California Courts Self-Help Center.

How It Works

  1. First, your court order, probation paperwork or attorney will state a number of hours or sessions. Select the class that works best for your schedule and pay the initial one-time $30 enrollment fee.
  2. After you enroll, you will receive a separate invoice for $31 for your first class. The $31 class fee must be paid at least 24 hours before your scheduled class.
  3. Approximately one hour before your class begins, you will receive the Zoom link by email. Please check both your inbox and spam or junk folder.
  4. Attend, then collect your certificate. The same process will continue each week: you will receive an invoice for the upcoming class, payment must be completed at least 24 hours before the class, and the Zoom link will be emailed approximately one hour before the class begins. When you finish the required number, your certificate of completion is issued in your legal name so it can be filed with the court, your probation officer or your attorney.

There are no long-term contracts. Clients pay for one class at a time.

How many classes will I need?

Your court order sets that, not us. The most common anger management program lengths are 12, 16 and 26 weeks, although programs may be assigned for up to 52 weeks. Because classes run once a week, plan for roughly one week per class, and start early if you have a court date coming up.

If a weekly live class does not fit your schedule at all, we also run self-paced online courses that you can complete at your own pace.

What you learn in class

The curriculum is built around skills you can use the same week you learn them, not theory. In every session you work on recognising the early physical signs of anger before it escalates, practical techniques for calming your body and mind in the moment, and responding to conflict in a way that protects your relationships, your job and your record. Because the class is live, you practise with an instructor and a group rather than reading alone.

Most people arrive because a court told them to. The signs that brought them there are usually recognisable:

  • Anger that is out of proportion to what caused it
  • Anger that arrives with no clear trigger at all
  • Intense anger attached to a memory rather than the present moment
  • Physical signs that arrive before you have decided anything — a tight chest, a clenched jaw, a rising voice
  • People around you becoming cautious or guarded in how they speak to you
  • Frustration, anxiety, low mood, withdrawing from people, or trouble sleeping

Our counselors work with people at every stage of this, from a first court referral to long-standing patterns. We also run court-approved domestic violence intervention and stress management programs — if your order covers more than one, tell us and we will map the whole requirement out for you.

Where our certificate is accepted

We run court approved anger management classes for participants in every state. Because the class is delivered over Zoom, where you live changes nothing except the clock — the schedule runs on Pacific Time (PT), so check the hour against your own.

California

Our home state. We are based in Woodland Hills and appear on Los Angeles County probation department approved-facility lists. The Zoom schedule already runs on Pacific Time (PT), so the class times above are local.

Everywhere else. Your certificate of completion is issued in your legal name, so it can be filed with the court, your probation officer or your attorney. Our program is widely accepted by courts, probation departments, employers and other referring agencies; because requirements vary, confirm acceptance with the court or agency requiring your program before enrolling. If your court has named a specific provider list, send us the paperwork and we will confirm before you pay.

Frequently asked questions

Will a Zoom class satisfy my court requirement?

In almost every case, yes. A court that asks for group sessions is asking for live, instructor-led attendance, and that is what this is — you join at a set time with a counselor and other participants, not on your own. The exception is a court that names a specific provider list or requires physical in-person attendance — that will be stated in your paperwork. If it is not clear, send it to us and we will read it with you before you enroll.

What does it cost in total?

A one-time $30 enrollment fee, then $31 for each class you attend. Nothing else — there is no certificate fee, no materials fee and no contract. Your total depends on how many classes your court requires, so once you tell us that number we can give you the exact figure before you pay anything.

What if I miss a class?

Contact us and we will arrange a make-up session where your schedule allows it. If missing classes is likely — shift work, travel, caring responsibilities — say so when you enroll and we will talk through whether the live class or the self-paced course is the safer choice for your deadline.

How do I get my certificate of completion?

It is issued in your legal name once you finish the required number of classes, at no extra charge. Use the exact name that appears on your court paperwork when you enroll — a mismatched name is the most common reason a certificate gets sent back.

Are men and women in the same class?

Only if you choose the coed group on Wednesday. Monday is a women’s group and Saturday and Sunday are men’s groups. Some court orders specify one or the other, so check yours before you pick a day.
