What is anger management
Anger Management is much more than learning how to control your temper. Anger management is about developing the skills that can effectively negotiate relationships in order to better meet your needs. Anger Management classes teach skills people can use to improve stress management, anger management, emotional intelligence, and styles of communication.
Valley Anger Management, Inc.'s Method:
Valley Anger Management, Inc.'s. approach begins with a client assessment. This assessment is designed to measure six levels of human behavior consisting of behavior towards themselves and behavior towards others. The six levels are as follows: anger management, stress management, assertive communication skills, emotional intelligence, empathy, and motivation to change. The results of this assessment will determine what areas the client needs to work on for improvement. It also assesses strengths and weaknesses of clients. The quantitative information is then assigned to the appropriate facilitator, who will use the information to focus on the client's destructive behaviors and how to resolve them. Once a facilitator has been assigned to the client, the client can choose to enroll in individual or group sessions, based on their needs, and finances.
Anger management classes (both individual and group) are skill building, educational, and instructional classes. Class activities include identifying destructive behaviors and replacing them with constructive behaviors. Valley Anger Management, Inc.'s. educational model teaches individuals how to change their thinking processes and behavioral outbursts. Clients improve their skills by practicing what they have learned in class in their workbook. Utilizing a workbook alongside our anger management classes makes us as unique as we are structured. Very few anger management programs outside of Valley Anger Management, Inc. use an approach this structured.
Our expectation is that after every class participants will leave feeling like they've learned a new skill to better improve their relationships with family members, co-workers, friends, significant others, and those they care about.
